GOES SUVI — Solar Corona (195Å)
An ultraviolet view of the Sun's outer atmosphere (the corona), from a NOAA GOES satellite. Bright, glowing regions mark active areas and can reveal flares and eruptions as they happen.
ACE EPAM — Particle Monitor (24h)
Tracks electrons, protons, and alpha particles streaming from the Sun, measured by the ACE spacecraft. Sharp spikes often mean a solar eruption's particles have reached the L1 monitoring point, sometimes hours before the main event arrives at Earth.
GONG Farside Helioseismology
Uses sound waves rippling through the Sun to 'see' active regions on the far side, hidden from direct view — a genuine early-warning tool for regions about to rotate into view.
STEREO — Off-Axis Solar View
NASA's STEREO spacecraft views the Sun from a different angle than Earth, helping track coronal mass ejections in 3D and see activity before it rotates toward Earth.
