How this works

Weight is just the force of gravity acting on your mass. Your mass — the amount of matter you're made of — doesn't change anywhere in the universe, but weight scales directly with the local surface gravity. A planet with 2× Earth's gravity would make you weigh twice as much, even though you're still exactly as massive as you were on Earth.
